Paint Skins - What they are and what to do with them

In my last post, I talked about how the paint drips off the canvas and makes a puddle while the paint is drying.  These puddles usually have really cool designs in them and you wish they were on your painting!  I learned that when you peel them up after they dry, they’re called paint skins.

Paint skins can be saved and used in crafts later.  I chose to use mine to make jewery, specifically necklaces with a finding and glass cabachon. Every time I paint and peel the skins, I’ll grab a small 1” punch and cut out a 1” circle.

I recently recruited my mom to help me. I prepped the settings, and then she glued in the paint skin circle. I added the glass cover, and wiped off all of the excess glue.

They turned out great!!
